ELIGIBILITY, DEADLINES & MAO REGISTRATION
Eligibility Requirements
To become a local Contestant competing in the 2027 Miss Alabama local and state competition(s), you must meet the age criteria as shown below.
Miss:
- No younger than 18 on September 1, 2027 & No older than 28 years of age as of September 30, 2027
Teen:
- No younger than 14 as of September 1, 2027 & No older than 18 on September 30, 2027.
- Miss America HQ allows the option for 18-year-old contestants to have a ‘pivot’ year to decide whether they would like to compete in the Teen or Miss divisions.
- Once an 18-year-old decides on the division she wants to compete in, she may not change divisions until the next cycle (competition year).
Residency:
Contestants qualifying by residence must provide proof of at least 120 consecutive days of residency within the state prior to the date of competition.
Employment:
Contestants qualifying by employment must submit documentation of full-time, in-person employment (minimum of 40 hours per week) held for at least 120 consecutive days prior to competition.
Student Status:
Contestants qualifying through student status must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university located in the state. Full-time status is determined by the institution.
MAO Registration & SpotFund
All Miss & Teen Contestants must register with Miss America here ($49.99 annual fee):

- IMPORTANT NOTE: Once completed, this should take you directly to SpotFund
A personalized SpotFund link will be sent to each contestant AFTER registering at MAO.
- All Miss & Teen Contestants must raise $30 per local preliminary.
- The $30 is considered a donation to the American Heart Association (AHA) and must be in your SpotFund account prior to the local competition.
Important Note: Only a single $30 donation is required for this 4-in-1 local competition

We crown 4 titles - Birmingham, Cahaba Valley, Hidden River & Covered Bridge - in a single competition (Teen @2PM, Miss @6 PM)!
- Only one completed entry is needed to qualify for all four titles in your category (Teen or Miss).
- Use the buttons below to access the LOCAL forms needed and securely submit to our competition Director via the Google form!
- The STATE MAO Contract will be signed via the links above and automatically sent to MAO & Miss Alabama.

Mandatory Contestant Orientation Sunday, October 26, 2026:
- Teen @ 2 PM CST
- Miss @ 3 PM CST
Note: A meeting link will be sent to all contestants the morning of October 26th via email
